Tanu Rai was a model before stepping into her acting shoes. Though she is a Bengali, her predominant appearances have been in Telugu films alongside a few in Kannada, Tamil and her mother tongue.
The actress is known for her item dances in ‘Mass’ and ‘Hero’.
She played the heroine in Telugu film, ‘Itlu Sravani Subramanyam’. Other films that she acted in include ‘Anandham’, ‘Manasantha Nuvve’, ‘Pelli Kani Prasad’, ‘Rudramani’, ‘Prayathnam’, ‘Keelu Gurram’, ‘NO’, ‘Megham’ and ‘Satyam’.
